At our recent outreach event at NMIMS University, we discussed crucial topics like understanding suicide, its causes, and prevention. If you or someone you know is struggling, our helpline is here to provide emotional support, offer safety planning, and listen without judgment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Understanding Suicide \u2013 What We Discussed at NMIMS<\/strong><br>On Monday, September 9th, at NMIMS University&#8217;s Mumbai campus, we partnered with the psychology committee to raise awareness about suicide prevention. Our goal was to engage students in an open, stigma-free conversation around mental health. Here\u2019s what we covered:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Risk Factors for Suicide:<\/strong> Understanding the warning signs, such as extreme hopelessness, withdrawal from social activities, and changes in behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Assessment and Escalation:<\/strong> Recognizing when someone may need immediate intervention and how to escalate a situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Safety Planning:<\/strong> Steps that individuals can take to safeguard themselves or a loved one from harm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Prevention Strategies:<\/strong> How to create a supportive environment, where people feel comfortable seeking help.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How We Can Help<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br>If you are experiencing distress, having suicidal thoughts, or finding it difficult to share your emotions, it\u2019s important to know that you\u2019re not alone. Our emotional support helpline provides:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Confidential Support: <\/strong>All conversations are private and non-judgmental.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Trained Volunteers:<\/strong> Our team is equipped to listen, guide you through a crisis, and help you create a safety plan if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Available for You:<\/strong> Whether you\u2019re feeling overwhelmed by academic pressure, personal relationships, or any other factor, we\u2019re here to support you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Suicide Prevention<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><br>Often, people hesitate to seek help due to stigma or fear of being misunderstood. But reaching out can make a significant difference.
