About Ankahee:
Welcome to Ankahee, a heartfelt initiative born from the compassion and dedication of former volunteers of Samaritans Mumbai and our beloved mentor Manohar. Our helpline is dedicated to providing emotional support and a listening ear to individuals in distress. It’s a sanctuary where your ‘unspoken’ words are heard with warmth and care.
The name ‘Ankahee’ comes from the Hindi word meaning "unsaid" or "unspoken". It aims to create a safe and confidential space where people can share their innermost thoughts and feelings without any fear of judgment or stigma. We understand that sometimes, the hardest feelings to share are the ones that weigh heavily on our hearts. At Ankahee, you will find compassionate volunteers who are trained to offer empathetic support to those struggling with emotional distress or mental health challenges. Whether you’re overwhelmed, feeling lost, or just need someone to talk to, we’re here for you. You don’t have to face your struggles alone.
Ankahee is more than just a helpline; it’s an emotional support system for you to help you explore your distressed feelings and emotions. If you or someone you know needs someone to talk to, Ankahee is here for you. Reach out to us—let’s navigate this journey together.
The Story Behind Ankahee:
In recent years, the world has slowly begun to recognise the importance of mental health and emotional well-being. Despite this growing awareness, the demand for mental health support often far exceeds the available resources. In our fast-paced, and often overwhelming world today, countless individuals find themselves battling anxiety, depression, loneliness, and even thoughts of suicide or self-harm. Many are living with hearts heavy with pain and distress, quietly carrying their burdens, unable to find the help they need.
Ankahee was born from the deep desire to bridge this gap and reach out to those who feel unheard and unseen, and ensure that no one has to struggle alone and can have access to the emotional support they rightly deserve.
